Sorry if this is a dumb ? but here goes. I have a buddy that has a mustang with a 5.4 in it but with alot of aftermarket parts. He's always swapping injectors and stuff on it to gain the speed he 's looking for. My question is, even tho these are both 5.4 l engines, are the parts interchangeable?
I'm guessing he put the 5.4L in the mustang himself? If memory serves only a shelby GT500 comes with a 5.4L, everything else (8 cylinder wise) is the 4.6L. So, like Coskid said, no, they are most likely not interchangeable. More than likely your speed demon buddy has a supercharger on that bad boy as well? If so, he's got a very different fuel system that delivers more fuel to the injectors.
You can always put higher flow injectors in trucks, but you need to do some serious tuning and air intake management. More fuel (naturally aspirated) needs more air. At this point we'd need to get into stoichiometric ratios to provide further explanation. But it's late, I'm tired and it hurts to think
I understand the whole fuel air ratio thing, I was just wondering if they were interchangeable. I know w/o knowing the psi ratings and stuff it's difficult to answer. I just hate seeing these things sit.....
especially when I can use them for my truck. I think these 04 F150's are very tempermental when you modify them, even just a CAI
