when i pull off from a stand still the truck shakes violently i know it has a rough clutch but im wondering if slop in the driveline could magnify the clutch issue and 2ndly is there anything i can do for the clutch without replaceing it
yea im shure the clutch disk it warped but im realy not lookin forward to droppin the tranny. although i beleive i will goahead and replace the carrier bearing and u-joints when i do it
HEY what engine? I have an almost new clutch with throw out bearing and a new pilot bushing (I reused mine) I would sell for 30 bucks. I did a lot of work to my truck and decided to replace the clutch even though it was replaced less than a year before and has at most 2000 miles on it.
This is my new clutch
And the one below is the one I pulled from the truck. I figure this will help you compare and see how much friction material is gone. It worked great but I needed to put a new ring gear on my flywheel and I went ahead and resurfaced it as well. I didn't want to put a used clutch on a resurfaced flywheel.
This picture was taken awhile ago and it still has dust on it. I can take more tonight.
I live in central Illinois. I know its a heavy duty (it may not really be heavy duty but has more force than my new one) pressure plate It has more force than the one I bought but I have a half ton. The disc is the same style as my new one.
I was trying to be fair. I would like to see someone get some use out of it. I paid 90 for mine after shopping around and I know for a fact it was installed just a little more than 2000 miles ago. He thought he could skip the flywheel ring gear but it went bad and I bought it and removed it as soon as I got it. I will send it in the box my new one came in the throw out bearing is in great shape as well. I don't know what shipping is but it cant be so bad that I would go buy a 90 dollar one.
i bought my truck with the clutch completely gone...it wouldn't even pull at all. i put a new clutch in it and it has a similar shudder problem...but while under it i noticed that the U-joints have slung grease perfectly under the body....guess that just adds to redneck rust-proofing....i plan on swapping the u-joints sunday so i'll be able tell you if it fixes the problem...
