looking for muffler opinions
I love my 2009 F-150! I really like the sound of my 4.6 liter, But I wish it was louder. I had in the past a 96 mustang with a 4.6 and 40 series flowmasters, They sounded great. Has anyone changed out the muffler on their 4.6 F-150? Can I get that sound back without hundreds of dollars in exhaust work? What other mufflers have you used and liked or not liked? Thanks everyone for your help.

Welcome to FTE. Glad you like your truck!
You'll find most of the common accessories, issues, etc. have been discussed (some have been beaten to death). As such, a lot of owners won't even respond to these types of questions.
I recommend you search the forum for previous threads to make sure you're getting as much information as you can BEFORE you start a new thread.

Good luck in your decision process.

I love the stock note and you'd be hard pressed to get an aftermarket muffler, or entire exhaust system for that matter, that flows as well as the stock one. Having said that, I do like Magnaflow (I have them on my 2000 f-150 and my 66 Mustang). But if I REALLY wanted a helluva good sounding truck, I'd go for Dynomax Ultraflos. I just can't see dishing out that much dough again when the stock system suits my needs so well. The stock system is actually pretty loud when you are listening from outside. These trucks are just so well insulated that you don't hear them like th older trucks, so one thinks that the exhaust is quieter than it really is.
