Only one you can get to easily is the one up on block, drivers side just below exhaust manifold..... Other side ya gotta remove starter to get to it.

One on the right, behind the starter, one on the left, easy to get to. They are on the rearward bottom of the block wedge. Takes a hex wrench to remove them. They are O-ring sealed, low profile. You are not looking for a pipe plug like on some blocks.

Don't mess with the one behind the starter. The bath you take from the easy one will be fun enough.

Thanks Bud & Bill,
I've already had a diesel bath from changing the frame fuel filter. Learned my lesson on that one

Should I remove the T stat for the VC9 flush?

Some do, some don't. I would. And I would install a new one when finished.

I was looking at the T stat housing location, looks like I might be able to remove it without taking off the air cleaner & intercooler plumbing. Have you guys done this before, were you able to remove the T stat without removing anything else?

Makes it a lot easier if you remove the air cleaner.

On most '06 and later, you have extremely easy access to the t-stat without removing anything other than the upper radiator hose. On earlier trucks, it is not as easy and there is some EBP tubing in the way. Since I have the easy one, I can't help much with the difficult one, except to say it has been covered in past threads.

Yeah, I can see that would be a big help although taking the air cleaner in and out is lots of fun in of itself ( I just changed it a week ago :/ )
