I bought a 74 F100 with a V8 360 and a C6 transmission. I'm looking at putting a fuel injected 351w in it and had a question about transmissions. I know the C6 at one time was made to bolt up to the small block 351w but my question is that since I currently have the 360 will I have to find a different transmission. I thought I had read on the forums here somewhere that the castings for the C6 big block and small block were different and could not be adapted to fit each other. Any information will help me out as I am currently looking for a motor to rebuild and if I need to buy a transmission too I think I can manage to get the combo for a little more at the same time.
You will need to find a C6 from a 300, 302, or a 351W. They are getting harder to find but are out there. The parts are all the same but the case is one piece to the bell housing.
