Tire suggestions
Evening all! I'm looking for tires for my F150. I'm looking at staying with 235's and the most important factor is, they have to be narrow. I think BFG All Terrains are too wide for what I want, so keep that in mind. I'm considering Cooper Discoverer ATR, BFG Rugged Trail, or BFG Commercial T/A Traction...(at the moment, but i'm open to suggestions still.) So any directions you can help me with would be great! Thanks in advance!

I like the Cooper Discoverer ATR and the Mastercraft Courser AT2, its the same tire pretty much, they come out of the same plant and carry the same 50k mileage warranty no matter what ply rating. Most other tires only carry the mileage warranty on P-metric tires not LT-tires. I sell a lot of the AT2 because they are about 10 to 15 dollars less than the Coopers. Both are great tires. If you are located around me I will hook ya up with a killer deal.

Thanks for the input and keep it coming! The reason I want narrow tires is for all that lovely white powdery stuff that covers this country in a couple of months. Last year I did great in snow, with small tires. So I'm doing the same when I buy new. I don't go through mud, so wide knobby tires are unneccessary. I like to have a bit of good tread though... you might have noticed that from my aforementioned choices.

Had a set of 235-75R15 Cooper Discoverer ATRs on my 2wd 96 F150 when I bought it, they had maybe 50-60% tread left and were absolutely worthless. The truck got stuck on wet grass in my yard more then once, the tires would spin under very light throttle in the rain. I replaced those with a set of new Cooper Discoverer HTs, same story as before, they're worthless on anything other then dry pavement. Replaced those with a set of BFG Rugged Trail TAs and haven't looked back. The truck sits in the garage all winter so I can't speak of performance in the snow with any of the above mentioned tires.
On my 94 F150 4x4 BFG All Terrains is the only tires I use. I know you said you thought they'd be to wide for the snow but I've never had a problem. I had a set of 31x10.50s on the truck with stock 3.55 gears and a rear limited slip for years, tires had maybe 30% tread left last winter but they still got me through northern Iowa snow just fine. I re-geared the truck to 4.10s in January, added a detroit locker to the rear and jumped up to 33x12.50 BFGs all terrains. After that the truck went through snow like it wasn't even there, even playing out in my field where the snow stood over 2 feet tall the truck just plows right through it. Over the years I've had 3 sets of BFG ATs in 31x10.50 size, I got over 70,000 miles out of all of them.
