What would a bad speed sensor do? It's on my 93 F350 Turbo...tarnny is re-built and she likes to go in and out of gears when crusing at 40 to 55 MPH..could it be the speed sensor and if so is it hard to replace. I resad it's loacted on top os the rear-end but os it just a unscrew and repace, then plug in wires situation?
Description: The Manual Lever Position Sensor (MLPS) or Transmission Range (TR) sends a signal to the PCM. This indicates the position of the shift lever (P, R, N, (D), 2 or 1). The MLPS is located on the outside of the transmission at the manual lever.
The computer uses a number of sensors to shift in and out of OD.
It uses the information from the TP, TR, PIP sensors plus the PSOM & TC switch to go into OD and it uses the same sensor plus the BOO switch to go out of OD.
Crap that's a lot for me to pay for some wrench bender to look at...ops gotta be nice well maybe they can find the right one quickly...just put in that rebuilt tranny..
