What's with the embedded ads in a post? I know there is a benefit to being a supporter and a reduction in "junk" on the site. I just checked a thread without logging in and in one of my posts there is a pop-up / ad in the post above my signature - as if I added it. Not the case. After logging in and re-checking the post, it's gone.
I'd noticed this in a number of threads / posts by others and thought maybe they were added by choice. I've not been on for a few months so perhaps this has been discussed, if so my apologies.
If you don't want the annoyance, you must become a supporter.Actually, with so many helpful guys here,it's a very small price to pay to avoid being annoyed.I'll still manage finding new ways to annoy my constituency, though. And for that, there has never been, nor will there ever be,any additional charge.
Contrary to what we - the non-supporter and/or the supporter - would like to believe - that this site is purely about Ford Trucks - the owners are here to make a profit off of our coming here and regestering hits on the ads seen stats.
We each pay for the Joys of FTE in our own ways.
Well, the content may be about Ford Trucks, but the owners are really pushing it. This forum already had the most commercial annoyances without the embedded ads, to the point where I rarely visited on my slightly outdated computer.
It really is a bit much, reaching the point of diminishing returns ...
There seems to have always been problem with this site with it's excessive ads but they seem to have gotten it figured out. Other than having the pop up and all the border ads, the site seems to be working, for me at least, for the last few months. I'm not a supporter so I just have to live with the ads.
