passenger side window gets stuck

passenger side window gets stuck
the passenger side window will go up and down but will not go up completely when i press the button it goes up and about 1/2" from the top it stops and makes a thudding sound like something is stuck. i have taken the door apart and the assembly when applied enough pressure will go all the way up but it take an ample amount of force. so i don't know if the motor is just not strong enough anymore or if it needs to be reset to a different location. i tried to reference a maintenance manual but it was really vague and did not give me a really good answer

Welcome to FTE. This the place to go to get help. But to get that help, you need to give us more information.
What year Ranger are we dealing with? If you grab hold of the glass, can you easily pull the glass up and down, or does it bind up somewhere?
Give more info to work with and you will get the help you need.

I am suspecting the gears on the swing arm. They seem to fail. Good news is replacements are not that expensive and come with new motor. Somewhere around here I did a writeup on this.
First step is to know specifically what year we are talking about (edit your signature lines with the info for future postings!).
