so i have a 78 bronco and i have tried to install the warn premium locking hubs using the oringal spindle nuts but no go so i thought maybe its the original lock nuts may be too thick so i bought and installed the conversion kit but for some reason it still doesn't fit idk it seems like the the shafts are too short or something is too thick but i am not able to install the final snap ring, has anyone had this issue im stuck don't know what to do next. all help is greatly appriciated.
Put a crowbar or something long through the u-joint area behind the rotor, and pry it so that it pushes the hub shaft outward. That might allow you to get enough to get the snap ring on.
Also, IIRC, I had a similar issue, where the snap ring groove was different between two trucks I had. One was a full time 4x4 (NP203) But that was years ago. If my memory gets better soon, I'll let ya know.
