I would stay away from a metal one. Had a T shifter that was aluminum, got too hot to touch in the summer and I little too cold in the winter.

I've seen lots of 8-ball shifters so I bought a set of billiard ***** at a swap meet for $10 and plan to drill them out to accept 3/8-24 threaded inserts (embed with epoxy). No, I will not be using the 8-ball cuz everybody else has them.

IMO, beer tap handles are lame.

I know a guy with a snowmobile piston tapped to fit his transfer case shift lever. Looks pretty cool.

on my most recent deployment to afghanistan I picked up an emperor scorpion sealed in a glass ball perfectly spherical and just the right size for a shifter **** when I finish my truck if I ever do the finishing touch is to make this large insect into a unique shifter **** for a tree shifter I had an idea to make that out of a .50cal casing and polish it up good!
