I have Recon LED taillights on my truck and the stock third brake light. I want to upgrade it to the LED third brake light, but I've heard rumors that is messes with the torque converter lockup. Has anyone else heard this? Would I be OK to make the upgrade or just leave it stock?
Ive had an LED 3rd light for years with no problems. What that LED issue is referring to I believe is when you just replace the bulb itself with an LED. When you buy an LED assembly, they usually come with load managers built in to provide the proper resistance.
I would certainly think so. I bought one of the cheaper recon look a likes years ago and I haven't had a problem. I would imagine recon (if you're willing to spend the insane money) would be even better.
