Just talked to my dealer parts dept about SP and LV tranny fluid. Thay have both in stock and the LV is 4.63 a qt. and the SP is 5.95 a qt. They know nothing about the LV superceding the SP or about the SP being discontinued. They stated that they are still getting both. Just curious if there are any comments on this.
It may be just the ONE person was not aware.......if it was a good shop, hard to believe. Whatever, sure doesn't make any sense to have the old more expensive than the new??????
If I was under warranty (and I didn't get Lucas for free) , I wouldn't blame you.
There's not enough of a price difference to worry about but it is a PITA to go to a dealer to pick up ATF!
5 miles from the house and not that exp. doing 8 qts. at a time. I do that every 10,000 miles with an ext. filter. My tft's have never gone over 184 degres towing a 31' 5er up the sierras.
no 6.0 transmission is under factory warranty that I know of ?? maybe EXT ? .. but Valvoline personally told me they would back up their fluid if there was an issue ,, they also told me they sell bulk to ford and the max life is used for the torque shift and used vehicle on their lots that gets a trans service

Don't want to bust your bubble but I have a bumper to bumper Ford ESP till Jan. 25, 2012. It even covers the radio providing I use the proper oil.
thats why I threw in the EXT disclaimer
I bought mine the day the oem 3/36 bumper to bumper was up ,, I drove to the closest ford dealer and checked the price of a longer warranty to match the engine warranty ,, they told me forget about it,,, my lift would give them a way out on almost all powertrain issues .. I since have learned it's more about the dealer than the lift ,, so I am stuck with my crap EXT Guardian warranty AKA GWC
