Oh this one happened to me. I WD-40'd right behind the steering wheel and that didn't work. It was just where the steering shaft goes through your firewall. Take some grease or WD-40 to the cab side of the rubber piece that surrounds the barring where it punches through your firewall. Turn your wheel a few times and it'll be all better!
I remember it driving me nuts. Sounded like mice were driving my truck.
Edit: By cab side I mean the "inside the cab" side. So right above where your feet sit when you drive.
