I have a few:

This one was still with the 1bbl. The end of the video is better since I got away from the engine, which is plagued with the horrible whine of the power steering pump.

This is one I did driving through town. Again, annoying sounds. This time, my low range shifter rattles (Since fixed).

One of me off-roading.

Need to get some new ones now that I've quieted down a lot of the annoying sounds.

All in all, I LOVE the way it sounds.
I have a 3-way cat, and a Dynomax turbo muffler, and I couldn't recommend the muffler enough. Smooth and quiet when at low RPMs, powerful and means business when you step on it, no drones or buzzes. Perfect.

I don't know anyone else who uses one and I'm not sure why. Got recommended to me from a guy who runs an exhaust shop and has an old Toyota Landcruiser with an I6 in it.

At the risk of starting another exhaust sound war of postings, I would like to say that the flow master 50 series, 2 in2 out, has a nice low growl sound with a 6. Maybe too loud for me. IMHO.

That really does sound awesome! That is one of the best sounding I6's I have heard, easily. Where did you get the 3-way cat from?

I have heard good things about the flowmasters as well, as long as you get the right one. I remember them being louder than I was looking for though.

pretty happy with the flowmaster 40 and 2.5" all the way out, was asked once if I had a bigblock 8 under the hood pretty quit on the freeway even at 75 mph but can make some noise if you want it to.

I found some new OEM EFI manifolds on ebay at a great price.

for the price you paid for the 390 IMO it would be well worth it to take to a shop and have it rebuilt proper. not sure where they got the carb number from tho

Thanks! I've been perfectly pleased with it from the first time I fired it up. My wife raving about how much she liked the sound too was icing on the cake.

The cat was from Summitracing.

Definitely an interesting Holley 390. Never seen one like it, and can't find any info on those numbers. Some of the linkage is pretty different too. I wonder what it came off of.

That makes me wonder if it is really a 390. I haven't been able to find much for those numbers as well. The oldcarmanual, I think, had those numbers listed for a carter I believe, but not everything matched, just the 3489 or whatever it is.

I found "some" info on something that was a Holley about a 3489 listing.
It might be a 370cfm, which would make sense by the numbers on the plates.

The primaries are 107s and the secondaries are 91s. I think mine are 109s and 93s or something like that. Close, but slightly bigger.

Holley Master List - The Old Car Manual Project

Don't know if those are actual corresponding numbers, but it's the only bit I was able to find.

I had found that same bit of info. Wasn't sure what to do with it though. I had looked at the primaries and secondaries and noticed the numbers, but wasn't confident enough in what they meant really. Looks like it's gonna be quite an adventure.

Go right to Holley and ask and then you will know for sure what it is.

It may take a day or two for them to respond but they always have. Pretty helpful over the phone too.
