i like all the old stuff, dodge, ford chevy ect,to me make dosen`t matter, anything newer or built within the last 10-15 years the last thing i`d buy is a chevy product!
You said it yourself. IT'S A FORD SITE! We love to slam Chevys!
BTW, I have a Chevy engine in my 48 and I've owned a lot of Chevys. They are just as good as the Fords or any other brand; but, of course, I'd never admit that here!
Yes I did say it is a ford site because it is, but that wasn't my point, all old iron particularly american should be preserved not just ford. What I find funny is when someone finds a project other than a ford and is normally on a ford site goes over to another site and starts slamming fords just to fit in with the crowd. Who goes to a car/truck show and ignores all but the brand they like.
All I have now are Ford, but I have had a few Chevys and all of them have left me on the side of the road. Here is the deal now like what was stated before old American Iron needs to be saved. I love old chevy vehicles, but would still rather have a Ford any day of the week.

Same here, I got tired of being towed home by Fords so I bought one. I agree, the old metal should be saved, I don't think that by voting that the Ford looks better we are automatically saying that the chevy should be scrapped. That is a nice looking chevy truck and I really like how the round of the headlights is carried clear back through the fender and just the slant forward look like the '56 f100 that it has too. That being said I can't keep a GM of any sort running good for longer than a month or so. I made a deal with God that if he'd find somebody to buy my last GM product I wouldn't buy another one and I plan on sticking to that, lesson learned, no need to learn it again.
BTW, up here in MT/WY/SD it's a VERY big deal what brand truck you drive, it's brought up constantly. There is constant joking about the "other brand" and how much better your brand is and the stories of being towed, getting stuck and breaking down go on and on. When I sold my old '90 F-250 and bought my current 2001 Dodge Cummins my dad didn't speak to me for a month and he didn't compliment my truck for a full year...

Me, for one. I do it all the time. I might look over a few Mopars or some other odd makes, but I stroll right past the GM's like they weren't even there - especially the Chevys. I normally stick my nose in the air at the Ford products that have been crossbred with a GM powertrain also. I'm a Ford fan and I don't mean casually, either. I was raised this way and it goes all the way through to the marrow. I've taken so much sheet about it over the years from GM idiots that I've developed a strong hatred for anything with a bowtie on the hood. That would be why I hang out on a FORD website. I don't want to come here and hear squat about Chevrolet. There are other places on the 'net for the guys on the GM bandwagon to associate. Don't try to force it on us here or expect us to be tolerant of it for your sake. We don't and shouldn't have to be.

Man if the F250 was diesel you made a big mistake. The 90 F250 has the reg. 7.3 in it and if you ask people that has other brands they will tell you that is the BEST diesel that has Ever been produced. I wished I could have bought it.

I do. Theres no reason to look at something if you dont like it so I dont waste my time. I go to look at certain stuff so thats what I do but I guess I'm old fashioned like that. I'm not slamming chevys but 95% of the people I talk to only like them because they are cheap to work on. My stock 289 now that its all built ran me $4,800 again thats stock pushin maybe 250 hp and thats if I'm lucky. I could have went with a stroked 383 pushin 400+ hp turn key crate motor from summit for the same $4,800 but then I'd be just like everyone else who looks for the cheapest and easiest way out...
I guess there are more narrow minded guys on here than I first thought. I like old cars and trucks no matter the badge. My favourite Ford has always been the 56 f100 and when it's done I wouldn't trade it, but I wouldn't say for sure if my next project would be a ford because there are far to many beautiful designs out there especially in the gm lineup. You guys are giving me a good chuckle regardless, lol

C'mon, better than Cummins? HaHa, it was a 302 anyway.

If by "narrow minded" you mean we don't just accept whatever we can get and we filter the junk out to gt to the best, thanks!
There is a reason why chevy parts are so cheap, it's a simple case of supply and demand...

Well if you want to call me narrow minded thats ok with me. I'm not the person who came into a FORD forum and asked the "Awsome question of which one Ford or Chevy". To me its narrow minded to create such a stir but then again I'm old fashioned and yes I am one of those guys who believes a Ford should have Ford motor...

Well I didn't start the thread and only voiced my opinion when everyone desided to attack me, you guys are providing good entertainment though I'll admit that, lol. I just think it's rather childish to say one is better than the next when they aren't, they all provide the same thing, transportation and a pain in the a$$ when you got to fix them, lol. I'm not here to make enemies.
