No heat ??

Well mornings are getting cooler and I went to put the heater on and .....nothing...no heat what so ever. This was after the engine had warmend up and the fan was running ...just blowing cool air.

Took it to a mechanic friend and he felt the hoses ( I ws wondering if it was a thermostat) but he said all the hoses were warm so he thought that perhaps there is a malfunction in one of the doors that opens the pathway for the air to enter the cab..

Any thoughts?

Yeah, if your temp gauge is showing normal temp & the hoses are hot i'd say your mechanic nailed it. The problem is with the blend door.

The blend door directs air thru the heater core. Looks like it's not doing that.

Could be a bad temp switch or blend door motor.

might be the vacuum line that operates the doors.

Check the articles in the Technical Information section, the one on "Blend Door Repair."

UPDATE

First, thanks for all the helpfull hints.

In doing a little research I wasn't really comfortable attacking what I though was the replacement of the blend door so I took it to the dealer.

They discovered that it was the blend door actuator (motor) that had failed and replaced it. The door was fine.

Cost about $250 but I now have all the heat I want!
