wow info on my first ford 77 f150 4x4 what to do ?
Hi i just bought my first 77 f 150 the truck only has 34,000 mile with a brand new 351 m, i did a full tune up on it runs great. before i got it was sitting for 3 yrs Do i need to flush the trans and t case and the rear and front ends never? i never owned a 4x4 what type of fluids do i use whats best ? went to auto zone to pick up a gasket for the front and rear axles but i don't know what they are maybe 9in ? everything on this truck is factory, any info Thanks Shane

Thanks for the welcome and the reply, i was going to use synthetic motor oil but the guy at auto zone said it was a bad move for my motor because its was to old my motor only has 1000 miles on it he said that the motor would foam up ? do u use synthetic motor oil ? i heard great thing about it never used it . i am going to use it in my t-case and front & rear ends, Thanks for the reply

Welcome aboard. Rear end will be a 9" Ford, probably 3.50 ratio. Front will be a Dana 44. You cannot go wrong by doing a drain and refill on all your systems, it will give you a chance to take a look at the fluid that's in there. I use synthetic(80-90W) in my front and rear ends, less friction. The t-case is supposed to have a straight 50weight engine oil. I went with syn. there also. Hope this helps.
If it's a NP205 part time transfer case, not so. The NP205 uses 80w-90 gear lube.
Agree otherwise, and if his rear is a 3.50 then the front is 3.54.
