Good point Colin tho rereading the FTE guidelines again that while sale items are not allowed I see that wanted items are allowed. I think that it`s still it`s best to post `em in the Man/Sask Wanted and Selling Items Thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...ms-thread.html
USER GUIDELINES: Ford Truck Enthusiasts - Discussion Forum Guidelines
_______________
5. Personal Items For Sale . For Sale items are not allowed in the automotive and general discussion forums of FTE. We have a Classifieds section that you can list your items in. Want ads are allowed in the forums so long as you post a follow-up when you find the part(s). Vehicle value discussions are permitted, however, if we find it turning into a for sale thread, the thread will be removed. The only exception to this guideline is the Chapter Forums. There is a specific thread in each Chapter Forum, for Chapter Members only, that is intended for local for sale items.
But...FTE does not support their very own guidelines. Look in the 1961/66 & 1967/72 forums for flagrant examples of vehicles and parts listed for sale in threads.
One member posts links to his ebay parts ads so often, it's ridiculous, and no one has said a word or complained.
A former member (in fact...a former adminstrator, you canucks might know whom I'm referin' to) complained about ads in threads on a daily basis, but his signature had a link to all the stuff he had for sale.
If the guidelines are not re-enforced, the whole tamale becomes a falacy, IMO.
It`s not easy but we have to try to do the best we can....but some forums still get out of hand.
Thanks for all the very helpful replies you`ve posted Bill!
