Do you mean the key will not turn. If so try moving the steering wheel away from the lock position and turning the key. If you mean that it will nor start, there is a fuel cut off switch located at the foot well. Not sure if it's the passengers or the drivers.
Try a different key. My WT(02 F150) was working great then one day I got in and the key wouldn't turn. The key had finally worn enough not to move the tumblers.
Is anybody aware of some sort of a re-set switch on the ignition? I loosened my front bumper to put my new light bar on, now my ignition won't turn.
I've tried moving the gear shifter around, even rocked the truck back and forth to see if that's the problem....no dice!
On my '91 F250 there was a re-set switch in case of an accident, just wondering if my 2006 F250 has the same.
Any help?
Get the owners manual out and look in the fuse/relay section. I believe there is a dedicated relay that provides power to the starter solenoid. Swap that relay with a similar one and see what happens.
043X still hasn't clarified wether it's the key or the engine that is not turning.
Since he "moved the gear shifter around" and there is no "mechanical" reset switch from the OP, I assumed the mechanical key operation is OK and it is an electrical problem.
Does this truck have an auto transmission? You should not be able to move the gear shifter around if the ignition is off. Try turning the ignition farther towards the off direction.
