i heard on here that rear bumper was an option and not standard...so my questions are as follows....
was there a bumper delete cover kinda deal...like a roll pan or something....
where did the license plate mount?
what does it look like.....anyone got pics?
Back in the day, rear bumpers were an option. Most opted for the dock bumper cuz the factory "contour" bumper didn't have a tow hitch. Nowadays bolt-on hitches are mostly the norm.
I'm not aware of a delete cover/roll pan. I think that's an aftermarket invention.
With regards to the tag, I've seen 'em simply screwed onto the bed's rear panel under the tailgate.
with the tag on the bed just screwed in i would have to move my lights for the plate....i was just wanting to see if anyone aftermarket or original made a roll pan for these trucks...maybe with an indention for the plate....and light holes..i wish i had a wire welder so i could make my own...
Get a welder and you'll never look at metal the same way again. Hobart's 140 is a nice piece. I have a Miller 140 with Autoset and it's awesome. Alternatively, Eastwood came out with their own branded welders at a very affordable price.
i've got a 70 amp stick that burns good with small rods and does good enough for the stuff i NEED but i would like a wire...right now though is not a good time....got a baby on the way and i'm laid off....it's one of those situations where i work with what i got and get ideas for the future...
thanks HIO...it's all about priorities...i really want to built a rat rod...i already got a 200 straight six..but it just isn't in the cards...
i like those roll pans from lmc...but the price isn't in the cards...just yet..so i'll stick with my step bumper until i can get around to making one or buying it..
or a kick a$$ batmobile...it's what i thought of first off.....i just want a toy...something that i can cut on and throw crazy parts at...a true rat rod....eventually i'll get it...or i can trade one of my cars for one....i've got a few...97 thunderbird (work in progress)...94 cougar (parts car)....01 cavalier (daily driver)....and my current project 73 f100....i just do everything with as little money out as possible and trade around...pick up odd jobs here and there....just tryin to get it....waitin on the right trade for a mini truck frame..probably a ranger...and i want an early ford truck cab...like late 50's or 60's. somehow things eventually work out...this is my last project..
