I'm a flat lander from Michigan asking this question from Kentucky. The family is on it's way to North Carolina towing a fifth wheel. We crossed over the state line from Ohio to Kentucky and hit our first big hill. Just after the truck dropped out of over-drive and hit the 2100rpm mark the truck started to buck and lose a little power. If I nailed the accelerator the the bucking would almost disappear. This continues to be a problem.
I had the engine pulled to replace a trans seal because it was leaking after they replaced the rear seal. The truck is also making a high pitched whine at about 2200-2500rpms. If I let up on the accelerator the trans downshifts and the high pitch whine disappears.
I'm not sure if this is a turbo problem or trans problem. I'm heading to Asheville, NC tomorrow and know their is a dealer nearby in Canton, NC.
I just remembered that the EGR was replaced when they had the engine pulled. The truck is an '05 250 with 32,000 miles.
Please help so I can continue my only vacation this year.
Have it checked out. Could be something from the engine being pulled, turbo actuator, or boost tube seal leaking. Ken Wilson Ford (828) 253-2200 is what came up searching Canton NC.

Yup they are right off I-40, on the south side. You can see it from the interstate.
There is also:

and

I have never been to any of them, so I do not know about their Service Dept.

Had a similar problem, between 2,000 and 2,200, when towing. Turned out to be the EGR valve. Had it replaced and it runs fine now.It may not hurt to have it checked. My truck is a 6 spd so I knew it was not a trans problem.
Had the same problem. Turned out to be the egr and had the fuel filters changed as well. They sold me the cetane booster to put in the tank as well. Truck runs GREAT after all of this.
I've tried to post a good response a number of times. Bad connection at the campground. Ken Wilson Ford in Canton, NC replaced the turbo and EGR. The turbo fins were sticking. They got the truck in at 8:15am and had it back by 4pm. They did a couple of other maintenance things for me also.
This is the second time in the last to years that I had to use Ken Wilson Ford on trips. I wish my local dealership was this good. If you live in the Asheville area give them a shot they are awesome

Man thats great service! A turbo in the same day.
Seems I have read on here multiple times it has taken days, if not a week, for people to get a NEW Turbo.
