new member with a question: 65 f100 steering column

My 65 f100 has a column that may have originated in a sixty something falcon (steering wheel was the hint). I was woundering what model and year ford trucks had a column that may match. I am looking for tilt steering and it now has a floor shifter. all info is appreciated.

Al, Direct bolt up columns can be found in 78/79 Lariats. You will need the matching power steering gear for correct length.

Are you referring to the horn ring on the wheel? They were part of the package mostly found in Custom Cabs.

The 3 spoke steering wheel is the same: 1960/63 Falcon/Comet / 1961/66 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F100 4WD / 1967/70 F100/350 / 1966/73 Bronco.

The horn ring or horn button is the same (its center emblem is different, depending on the application) for all these vehicles except the Bronco's.

The tilt wheel feature was an extra cost option beginning in 1978 for all F100/350 Customs, Rangers, Ranger XLT's and Lariat's (ditto Bronco's & Econolines), But, the tilt wheel was not available with a 3 speed manual.

The tilt wheel feature on all FoMoCo vehicles thru 1980, most 1981 thru 1996's works off the turn signal handle...press it forward - BOING!

The tilt wheel feature was, as I recall, a $42.00 extra cost option in 1978/79. I had one in my new 1979 Lariat S/C. I special ordered the truck with just about every option and accessory that was available.

Thanks, currently there is no power steering; not really looking to go to power steering, but tilt would be nice. By the way, prior becoming a member; I read suggestion made in response to an individual looking a good description wiring diagram. I went with the suggested diagram provided by Osborne and it worked well.

Thanks again for the help.
