My O/D light has been flashing and my service engine light came on. I took it to a dealership and they put a machine on it. He said that I had a sensor problem and that is all the was showing up. My transmission will shutter (sometimes) when it up shifts. Do you folks think it is a sensor only? Thanks....

 

Depends on the code. Any chance you could post the code along with the model year and engine of your Explorer? Sounds like something related to the locking torque converter.

I would stop driving it till you get this resolved, even if its just a sensor, the trans can damage itself when it gets bad information.
