Question Horn / confused

I was julted from sleep about 4am this morning. As my 05 F350 6.0 sat in the driveway, with the horn blaring. Not a security issue. Just blaring away. I clicked my remote unlock / lock, nodda. I opened the door, and pressed (didn't hit with anger), the horn on the steering wheel. It stopped. As I was on my way home, another driver pulled out in front of me. I pressed my horn. Nodda. Checked the fuse / fine. Clock-Spring seems to be fine (Still clicks as normal). All other steering wheel controls are still working w/ no issue. Pulled the air-bag fuse, let it sit for about 30 mintues. Pulled the bag / horn off of the wheel. Wire-connections seem to be fine. Not much of an electrical genious, but I try until I think I may mess something else up. Anyone else waken up by a horn in the middle of the night.... (horn does not "honk" when use my remote to lock / press lock 2-times)

From my understanding the 05 and newer do NOT have a seperate "relay" and is actually built into the box itself. Any truth to it? Any other suggestions..

do your horns sound if you put power directly to them?

the horn button popped off of my C10 once, and the only reason that I didn't return to a dead battery is because the horn itself burned out.

They aren't really made for a long duty cycle.
