Help with Electrical Gremlins Please

I know I am a lurker, but I have learned alot thanks to you folks. But I now have a problem that I can not seem to find a solution for on here. First a little information on my truck '99 f350 CC, 4X4, 197,000 miles, stancor GPR, ISSPRO gauges, GPR led, Custom built bumper (by me, welder by trade), rest is stock. (boring I know). Any how to get to my problem, this morning about 3:00am the horn just started blaring. Now I know you all might think I am nuts but the little town where I live is a quiet little town I my opinion, but I don't even take the keys in the house at nite. Well I run outside to see what is going on and open the door and all gets quiets. The horn quits but I hear this relay chattering. I close the door and 30 seconds later the horn starts again. Open the door and all is quiet except the relay chattering and then wait what do I hear the blower motor is running. The keys are out of the ignition and sitting on the seat. WT????? So I am tired and want to go to bed so I pull the battery cables. NiteNite.Went to work on the truck this evening hook up the battery cables, doors closed and in 2 min. the horn starts blaring ( pulled the fuse to shut it up could have done that this morning DUH). Then I start messing around with things door locks won't work with key fob but will lock with door switch. Windows will work with no key in ignition. Still this relay chattering when the heater selection is on. Turn the heater selection to off and relay quites making noise. Pulled the radio and inside the dash to the left attached to a dash support is the relay unit. I can't get to it from the access panel under the steering wheel only through the radio cavity or pull the pull the cubby hole asytray panel.Anyone got any thoughts I sure could use some help and ideas. ThanksDavePS. I got brand new batteries last month 850cca replaced as a pair. Took them in today to get checked all good

By any chance was it raining last night? Some of the 99's have had problems with water coming in on the driverside of the windsheild and it causes problems with the GEM

I agree, the GEM controls all the items you had mentioned. I'd start there looking for leaks and such. If nothing else, start looking for a GEM module.

I second the GEM theory. The replacement GEM also has to programmed by the dealership.
The 2002 models have a VSM, I know I had to have mine replaced.

Where exactly is this gem located on a 99. We have had rain and snow mix the last couple of days. Nothing yesterday till about 4:00 this morning then we got about a 1-1/2" of snow. But after my rude awakening. Dave

just look on the driver side fuse panel, see if you have any moisture or condensation, and check Driver Side floor if its damp or wet.
some people had coroded wires on fuse panels from water dripping there.

OT, but why did you defect to a sick leaker? You can PM if you don't want to contribute to the hi-jack of this thread
So no GEM on an early bird? One less thing to worry about for me- sweet!

IIRC on the back of the fuse box in the cab....I could be mistaken though my brain is on overload this past week.
