Long story short the 05 throughs a "Throttle actuator control system forced limit" and a "Throttle/pedal/ position sensor switch a/b voltage".
I buy a rock auto airtek and install. Car wont start. I pull harness and she starts but runs rough. I install old sensor and it starts and runs OK.
1st question: I had the wife push the gas with car off and that little lever did not move. Normal?
2nd question: Do I need to go buy an OEM Motorcraft from the dealer?
3rd question: could this be how I installed it? Everybody says it is tricky. Well maybe I am tricked but I really didnt see much I could have done different.
Update* bought one from the Ford dealer which looked an awful lot like the airtek that didnt work. Installed it and the car ran normal but the light did not go out.... I went to Oh Reilly and cleared the codes with their reader. From the store to home it didnt come back on...
Should these codes clear on their own? I may do an extended test drive tonight to see if the codes come back on..
I think the codes would have eventually cleared on their own, I think it takes something like 50 start cycles after the problem has been solved to clear the codes. Not too sure on this since it's OBD-II however...
Bummer about the Rockauto part not working. Must have been defective, I'd return it if they'll let you.
