Paul, try to do the 2nd. You can run the street class and have more of a chance. If you come down the 9th to run, you'll be running against trucks like mine with much more hp.
Damn I like mountainview more, but I guess I'll give Saluda a try again-hopefully I don't crop dust the place again.. I'll have to see what Cait's work schedule is.
how much fab did you have to do to get a ranger body on a swb f150 frame? or did you just do some kind of body lift to get it on?
and karl, i could possibly set you up with a 2001 ext cab ranger 2x4 with a bad motor for very cheap if you came to illinois to get it, don't know if it would be worth it for you, but i'll get some pics if you want.
We made all new cab mounts but did have to do a partial body lift for the front clip. How much is cheap? For $100 or so, I'd make the drive if the truck is straight and body isn't trashed. My 89 boday was from a roll over and the top of the cab was pushed to the driver side about 6"! We straightened it out and looks good from a distance.
let me take some pics today and talk to my mother in law. it's her old truck. it's been sitting for a while in a garage. all i really remember is that one fender was replaced and is still primer. it was in running driving condition, but the oil pan came loose or something and my ******* brother in law smoked the motor. i'm sure i can get it for you for under $300. and maybe we can work something out for a partial trade. i'll send you pics later today and you can figure it out for yourself.
