Cast identification
I am tring to identify the cast on the block of my 1975 F100, DV8E-6015-A3A with a large Z at the end of the cast, below this cast is a smaller one 8A31. Any help would be appreciated?

I am trying to identify the cast on the block of my 1975 F100, DV8E-6015-A3A with a large Z at the end of the cast, below this cast is a smaller one 8A31. Any help would be appreciated?
This isn't that hard.
I suspect that it is really D8VE-6015-A3A
8A31
which translates to a 1978 460 block that has several changes made since original and it was .....
cast on A831 January 31st /1978
8 meaning 78 > A meaning January <> 31 meaning the 31st
I'm pretty sure Z was the foundry it was cast at.
