I think I would bolt them to the frame.

If you ever want to go back, or make the lift shorter, just unbolt and work on it on the bench.

OR, can always drill new front hanger holes and bring it down as low as 0" lift and still have the rear shackle

think i found a way to save another $85 bucks! instead of buyin skys front shackles, im just gonna take the ones off the rear and throw them on the front axle. its exactly what im lookin for, and its a 4 1/2" eye to eye lift. the ones from sky are only 5" so its super close. might just have to throw a small shim on the axle. will find out once shes all said and done. figure, since im getting the lift shackle for the rear anyways, reuse parts huh? woohoo!

well, shes almost done. all welded up now, gonna remove the rear shackles and put em up front.... see how she does. i decided to only go 4 1/2" inch in the front. match the shackles. gotta order the new rear shackles now, frickin 90 bucks, but it will give me an extra 1" rear lift. try and level the truck out.

Are you going to box them in or rib that bend? How did you bend the steel? Did you anneal it after bending it?

Hope you got a base line degree reading for your caster and match it at the least, or that thing will wonder like a gypsie. If your degree reading was -5*, I'd go -6* to compensate for the reversal. Of course all this can be adjusted with shackle length.

bent it the old fashion way since our iron worker would only do a slight bend in that 1/2" plate. no, im not going to box it, theres not much gap there to make it worth while BUT im going to run a 1/4" plate from inside to inside. that will give it plenty of cross support and help push the air upward to the intercooler.

no, i didnt bother to get a baseline on pitman angle because i wouldnt go by it anyways. im gonna be around 5 degrees and see how she does. its all going to be controlled with a shim.

1 ebay and just got the bolts from a place that only handles bolts.
2 it's actually just a pipe stand that my old company uses for welding pipes on. We have the roller heads for them. 2500 lb capacity each. Bad a$$.
3 I've got kingpin d60, not balljoint. Thanks though. I'm lookin into crossover steering.
