I hate pretty much all truck ads. Everything is blown out of proportion, they always show 4WD models and supercab models and brag about towing capacity that is only available on a 2WD regular cab...and really, who tows 10K with a half ton? That's what they built 3/4 & 1-ton trucks for.
Uh, please define the terms half ton, 3/4 ton and 1-ton. If a 1972 F-250 (7500lb GVWR) could tow 10k, and I honestly dont know if it could, what is wrong with using a 2010 F-150 (7700lb GVWR) that has double the power for the same task? Tonnage used to refer to the amount of payload in the bed, never the tow rating.
I agree that its all about image, which is why they always show the most optioned up, most expensive configuration. That is what they are selling to those inflenced by ads. Fleet buyers for those 2wd regular cabs just go by price, not brand.
