So ive come to the conclusion that ford has the only commercial thats realistic cause gm had a commercial of them towing a huge boulder who would tow a boulder witha truck and toyota just showed a truck driving up a stair case of fire? really? well ford just shows people throwing hay bails or stone into the bed something actually realistic right?? i just thought i would rant about this haha
welp they gotta do something too distract the public from the p--s poor quality of their vehicles and the ugly styling so big ol' boulders and fire should do the trick . i'm waiting for the scantily clad women myself , just too see where they get them and how much they had too pay them to stand next to the toads they produce ...................
Does this marketing crapola really make much difference? Would you, as a "Ford" person, buy another make if that make had ads you consider "realistic", and Ford ads sucked?
While I am not brand loyal (had Chevy, Dodge, Ford, Toyota and VW trucks over the years), the ads make no difference in my choice. Dealer attitude is far more important, but I guess ads are necessary to get many folks to the dealer in the first place.
Well how about the Ford ad where the Super Duty tows a DC-3 with a rope until it becomes airborn while the two knuckleheads in the cab remain oblivious? Yeah, that was realistic!
My favorite commercial is the newer Toyota Tundra commercial where the rancher has no idea how much his cows weigh or how much his trailer wieghs. Either the found the worst towing safety advocate ever or the dumbest rancher there is. Besides, who doesn't want to drive up a staircase of fire every day?
Haven't seen that Toy commercial but I do have a DVR and rarely see ads any more. If Ford really wants good ads they should show how those of us really use their trucks. A couple small square bales are nothing compared to trucks with 3Klb hay bed and another 4K lbs of hay on board out feeding in a Blizzard. Or construction guys pulling 20K-30K lb loads.
One of the worst I remember, and I think it was Ford, was some moron putting T posts in with a sledge hammer out of the back of his truck. They never showed him missing the post and breaking his leg or denting the side of his truck.
Tried to find the 1960-64 (maybe) ad where they welded the frame to the front of a Sherman tank and mowed down a bunch of trees with it. Nothing bigger than 4" iirc.....
The only time I watch TV just about is to watch sports and even then I record them and watch them later. I find commercials annoying, some are funny, but they never sway me to buy anything, gotta pay me first =)
I hate pretty much all truck ads. Everything is blown out of proportion, they always show 4WD models and supercab models and brag about towing capacity that is only available on a 2WD regular cab...and really, who tows 10K with a half ton? That's what they built 3/4 & 1-ton trucks for.
And of course they never forget to show somebody dropping pallets full of cement or rocks or some other BS from 10 feet up in the air into the bed of the truck. Like anyone does that- and if someone did that to mine they'd get a kick in the nards!
