Hi, there is a bone yard that I go to about once a week on saturdays (it's 45 miles from home), the place is huge. I started going there originally to look for parts for my Bump but soon found myself hooked on grabbing anything old. Anyhow I was there yesterday and way back in the woods I found an old bump with a perfect dash pad, what a score because mine has a crack in it, sitting next to the bump is early 60's F series with a padded dash, it's sooo cool I wish my truck had curves like that, the dash however has a crack between the left vent and the windshield. Is this something that would be worth pulling? I hate to see this stuff rotting away in the trees.
Thanks alot
Pat
Depends if the pad is dry and brittle. Any hard areas on pad will crack with a little preasure on it. Apply preasure on various parts of pad, if cracks appear it's no good. Because these pads are affixed with glue, removing it will be a challenge. You'll also be able to see if new cracks appear. Bump pads are held down with nut's and studs and are easier to remove. The early pads are held with glue and prying them up will reveal the dryness of pad. Good luck
You may be right but I think the pad is really good looking, I like the lines and where it meets the paint is great. I think if the pad was cracked all over the place then it would be an eyesore but man when the pad is good I don't think you can beat it.
