Yall probably saw a post on here earlier for help with some upfitter switches. Connected the 4th switch to some extra lights up front and then the 3rd one to the high idle mode. I believe it was a purple with green stripe wire connected to the switch wire and it was done. Very simple. Hardest part was taken my shoulder out of joint to reach it..lol Oh, and a cheap zip tie came lose and my gauge wire found its way around the steering column. That was pretty, round and round till it yanked the wire in to , blowing fuses. ( I thought i heard something, lol)
Anyway, thanks to all that gave advice,, this site is awesome once again. My truck just keeps growing with goodies. Herb
I would like to do the high idle mod on my van, is there a post on exactly which wires (color) and where they are? Also, can I use a regular toggle switch for this? Until I happened upon this site, I had never heard of wet stacking.
i finally did my high idle mod today with a regular toggle switch, i ran a wire straight from the battery (with a fuse) to the switch(the white blue stripe wire had no power). then connct the purple green striped wire above the e-brake to the switch and its done. I think its differnt on 03-04 as 05-07 though
i would like to do this as well i came across some wires that went to nothing on the right side of the steering colum Ill go check the colors of these. what colors did you use again thanks
Also, you have some pass through wires under there that go through the fire wall from the factory. Those might be what you are seeing under your dash. Along with the wires needed for high idle.
well, i read a bunch about it, but i guess its a little different depending on the year of the vehicle. I was looking for the white and blue wire since i read about that first,, then it was an orange, finally i read about the purple and green and thats the one i use. I think i could have used the orange also,, high idle i found is kinda in two forms, one is a battery saver, etc.... or something like that. Since i had the upfitter switches,, they are hot with the key on,, just made the connection and it was done...

were these wires that you used going to anything or were they just hangen under the dash ready to be hooked up
they were behind the parking brake,, just a group that dead ended with some shrink wrap on the ends. you need to pull the fuse panel down to see them better,, you can find them without doing that but its hard to connect to any of them without that. If you have the upfitter switches,, those wire will be near that too.
so i found the wire by the gas pedal white lt/blue strip this should be the hot?? and the the other wire by the parking brake lt/blue with the yellow strip this one goes to the pcm? put a toggle switch between these two and it will go into high idle mod right? I had a 2003 just like the diagram so i went with those colors. what is the debounce diode on the diagram. sorrey guys for all the dumb questions dont want to hook the wrong two wires together and fry something thanks for your help
