6637 install- Anyone have pics. of breather box detail/notch for an '02

Hey all, does anyone have pictures or know a link that can show me the breather box detail to fit the 6637 in? I have an '02 which requirers this but not sure how much to cut. I know I can cut a little, check it, cut a little more, check, cut a little more---- you get the picture............ Should I just cut the whole thing off behind the battery? Looks to me like it may need a little support some where though, that's a big filter to just be sticking out there in space? Anyway, I'd appreciate some in-put!!!!

Thanks, Clay! I sure appreciate it!!!! I also want the say thanks for the help on the other MOD's that are now complete...... AIH delete and the CCV kit...... I'll be ordering the 4" exhaust from you withing the next two weeks hopefully. I was looking under my truck just wondering how much time it would take to put the new ehaust on, all looks pretty simple until you look up the pipe going to the engine? What's the best way to get up/down there? Pull turbo off?

I just cut mine directly behind the battery tray. Looks like I'm gonna need to build a bracket to help support it.

I did not cut anything on my '02. I simply removed the air box and the battery cover, see pic. Only mod is a bent beer bottle cap to protect the 6637 cover from abrasion.

Got it done and I appreciate all the help! Not sure what is different but I have an '02 crew cab 4x4 and I didn't have to cut anything on my battery/breather box. I didn't even take anything off the battery side of the assembly as David did??????? When I took the breather off I noticed two 8mm bolts in the bottom of the box, took them out but it was still attached between the battery and the breather. kinda pried the plastic back, saw two more of the same bolts. Took them out and the breather box side of the the thing just popped right off. 6637 slid right in there snug as a bug.......... The battery still has it's entire cover on, the whole thing looks like was meant to be that way and 6637 is resting in there very solid with no movement. Wish I could post pics but I can't yet! Not sure how many models are like mine but there was no reason to cut or remove anything from the battery side................

Good goin! Gotta love how neatly they fit in there. I removed the battery cover because it got in the way of checking the water in the battery, not really related to the 6637. Will you do the zoodad mod?

I didn't cut anything on my '02 either...

The "ZooDad Mod" is cutting a hole in front of the cold air intake plenum for the stock intake. I'm not sure it does a whole lot with a 6637 mod, but some have done it.

Don't forget gauges if you don't have 'em already...

Looks like it's time to give the panty hose on your filter a bath.

Was just wonderin if anybody knew how much cfm the 6637 flows and if it is worthwhile to go with that "Big Boost" washable filter they be advertisin as an upgrade on Riff Raff?
Dont like washables really, but broke the tab off my airbox and need somethin quick cuz the roads I travel to hunt camp get pretty dusty.

I don't remember the CFM of the 6637 but throughout my research before getting mine most all fingers pointed to 6637, not the big boost.... Not sure if this helps?

That's what I cut and rasped out on my 2000. Plus you can see the zip-tied sensor. Yeah yeah, clean the engine bay.

Nah, never wash that, maybe just grab a fresh one from the missus. Like a good dog the truck runs faster when he's got the scent.
