can someone explain this ..... pic in post



I am currently rebuilding my 460 motor EFI etc . i pulled this pic from a post... what is the purpose of the filter and can i benefit from adding it to my 460 . EFI valve covers ?

That is to replace the stock PCV system. It avoids crankcase fumes (oil) being sucked into the air filter or intake.

No, unless you plan on bypassing all emission controls.......PCV is required for most states emission testing.

You can have that AND a PCV valve - that is the inlet filter. It takes the place of the one in your stock air filter box. Crankcase breather filter is the proper name.
