power point
Hi i'm new to forum and have a 2008 superduty. just wandering if anyone out there would know how to run power point in dash so it shuts off with ignition. I have a gps plugged in and would like it to come on and off with ignition, not on all time. Any help would be appreciated.

There are about a dozen ways to accomplish this.
I ran the GPS wire through the dash seam attached the ground to a bolt on the dash support frame. Then attached the hot lead to switched power using a piggyback fuse holder.
Another option is to attach to an up fitter switch (if you have them) since they are switched power.
Most of the GPS units have additional cords available so you can cut the lighter plug off.
