What do people do w/ lifts? I guess they are smarter than me. My truck made it, but the top of my headache rack took a little abuse! I hated the sound of the roof of the parking garage scraping on the top of the headache rack. Since it didn't hit my truck, I guess I didn't notice the "cushion" marker that they have in place to warn you that you are too tall ...... No major damage, just felt dumb!
That would have been smart of me! After the first scrape (close to the exit), I just took my lumps. I figure now I will just spray some bed liner on it and it will all look fine! Just thought I would post to laugh at myself a little ..................
We take our chances and park in the street hoping we come back to a non-tampered with truck.
Sorry to hear about your scrapped up headache rack Mark. I hate it when stuff like that happens. Least you know it's your fault. I came out to my truck one day after work and somebody nicely put a long deep scratch down the backside of my bed. Grrrrrrr I wouldve paid a $100 bucks just to watch the guy do it so I could bash in his front windshield. Sorry went a little overboard there but it still makes me mad and it happened a year ago.
Years ago, as I was walking into venture into a fine restaurant, I heard a loud CRUNCH. Caught a little off guard, I turned around to see what the source of the noise was just across the street. When I turned and saw what I believed to be an almost brand new at the time GMC SUV of some sort with the windshield smashed in and the roof slightly "accordioned" (and the driver cursing through the top of his lungs), I had to run as far and fast away as I could, because I just about pissed myself, laughing so hard that tears came out of my eyes!!! Now, I'm not normally the kind of guy that would laugh at anyone else's misfortunes, but I think this was a case of blatant stupidity. This guy actually thought his vehicle would pass through one of those low clearance underground parking garages. My first thought was whether or not he even bothered to pay attention to the clearance bar above that was about to go sailing at him as he proceeded. Obviously not!!!
The point of all this gentlemen, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS know your height!!!
I stay completely away from those places. In fact if I ever take my truck shopping its parked a mile away from the nearest vehicle. Hope you didn't hurt it too much Mark....
I got the top of my Ex scraped by the "cushion" marker about a year ago. I am at stock height, and that was the first parking garage that I have seen that I was too high for. I don't know what they put in that thing, but it must have been heavy because it left white scratch marks along my roof. I think they will buff out, but it kind of ticked me off. Now I tend to avoid parking garages. Mike
Mine is stock height but my darn stacks keep hitting O well still love them. The big concern i'm with is... next summer were going to Miami beach, and were taking my truck and staying at the HILTON with a garage.God please help me Sorry to here about your truck Mark

Maybe they will park it out front with the Mercedes, Lexus's and Lambo's.... so you better wash and wax it... and be a big tipper!!!!
4x4 Super Duty's are not parking garage friendly. Last year I had to park in a garage at UT Austin and my passenger had to open the window and hold my antenna down to prevent it from scraping the garage roof.
I cant even consider a parking garage. When we vacationed at the beach I had to beg on my knee's for the condo managment to let me park in "unloading only" space for a week LOL
I can almost feel your pain Mark. I lived in Atlanta for a couple years..now fight that traffic everyday in your superduty.
Got lucky tho, stayed there a while and only got backed into twice, damn hybrids....
mark last year we went to the san antonio river city mall. this was in my 04 superduty, stock height suspension and 35" tires. it didnt stick much in my mind till about two weeks ago i ended up back there in my new truck. this truck is bone stock apperance wise all the way to the tires. i wasnt sure she would fit. my antenna is about 2" taller that the truck or so and i hit every sign, sprinkler line and everything hanging low. i dont know how i made it in my other truck
