your right az bout the attitude, i apologize for that, i appreciate the input on everything im just really getting frustrated with this carb im doin everything i know, all the basic stuff, and the idle is still crazy high
i can understand you being frustrated so it's all good take a deep breath and lets re cap ...so just curious what carb did u have on before the edelbrock? is or was it a 4bbl 0r 2bbl and i assume it was running normal before the swap correct.and not sure if you stated if you checked for any binding or sticking of the linkage so if you goose the throttle does it seem like nothing is bound up.was it a new carb or used if used maybe it's gummed up if new then probably not.does it idle hih with or without the air cleaner on as maybe its a fitment issue if it only does it with filter on . is it a manual choke or elec choke just not trying to be too repeditive just i didnt remeber if it is or not.does it appear in the exhaust to be running rich like its getting un-metered fuel..then you could def narrow it down to carb as the likely source..let us know will are here to help... as we all need some at one point or another.
Ok, I figured it out, the carb has an electronic choke on it, I didn't think that it would matter but apperently not having it hooked up wouldn't let it come out of fast idle. Now the only problem I am having is that it is running rich. And not being mean or nothing, but I wasn't worried about the timing at that time, even though it will cause the engine to idle high, but not make the idle change of over a thousand rpm. Oh and for future reference, these carbs come from the factory with a bracket on the left side that locks out the secondaries,
