I managed to get the truck started today. It did not start easy, but...after a 30 second or so rough idling period, it purrs like a kitten.
It did not start after work 11 hours later.
My Question -
If one or more injectors are shot, how can it purr like a kitten once it is started?
I do plan to have someone check the (voltage - is this correct?) on the FICM.
It just seems and sounds like it is not getting fuel.
Question 2 - I assume the gas goes from the upper fuel filter to the injectors? Is it possible there is a clog or crud in the bottom of the fuel filter bowl / Line?
Finally #3 What is the little canister thing that hums/purrs and seem to suck air in when you key on the ignition to wait for the plug light to go out? It is behind the primary battery.
unplug the ICP and try to start. there is a section in the tech folder for a no start condition might be worth a read. was there any smoke when it did start?
yes, dark. 2005 6.0 - Is the ICP on the passenger side, frontish, behind alt, three wires, sluminum base to plug mount?
I think what you are refering to is the egr valve you might want to check it out clean it up it could be stuck open. I think on your year it was moved to the driver side valve cover towards the front
it's right near your oil filter like stated .. do a quick search on how to clean .. not that I agree disagree with it being your issue ,, it never hurts to check
just saying it seems like if it is cold no start it really seems like your down some GP's or something isn't lighting them aka GPCM ,, they don't mind starting when warm if thats the case
well if thats the case i would start with the glowplugs to. Do a search on here iv read it somewhere how to test the gp system and get it figured witch bank has the bad gp or gps. I think that the side that draws less volts has the bad plug cant remember. it might need to get the latest flash to help with cold starts to
