Is it possible to clean/paint engine while assembled?

That's what I used to drop and install my C6 & NP205 combo out of my 79. Worked great, no chain to keep it from rolling over on you, but it's all I knew at the time...

As a reminder, everything I said was only for painting, not pressure washing. If you paint the lower half of the block, the motor mounts will need to be removed. If you are also painting the oil pan, then it can't rest on that either(I don't recommend resting anything on the oil pan). Now if I was to do it myself, the trans and engine would be separated from each other, and each put on a stand (buy the biggest one, don't waste money on the lighter duty ones & same stand for trans, only put nuts on the back end of the bolts instead) throughout the entire process. And to make clear, the paper towel is only for paint overspray, not pressure washing, for obvious reasons, lol.
