The only car I have ever owned with boost is my wife's subaru legacy gt, runs 14psi on the turbo. While that kick is fun, I tend to prefer the more linear power that a charger can provide.
the ProCharger and other Centrifugal superchargers are essentially turbo's. they run off a belt, but compress air the same way.
so at low RPM's you suffer from that "turbo lag". they are slightly easier on a motor since the boost ramps up from zero to max boost.
where-as a Positive displacement blower is making the same boost from 1,000 to 6,000 rpm. it just has a boost bypass valve that modulates from open to shut. this can cause shock loading of full boost on the motor.
at 6-10 psi though, the 5.4 3v can handle that loading with ease.
It's a fun prospect. I really miss my boosted F-150. But IMO there are cheaper ways to get more performance from the Expy with none of the hassle of mocking up a blower
4.30 gears - instant simulated +30 to 50 RWHP
tuning - huge increase...you'd be amazed
free flowing exhaust

couple those three for about $1,500 and you are looking at a completely different animal. way more fun to drive, and you don't have to worry about shortening motor & tranny life due to the blower.

plus, the deeper gears will make the Expy a tow animal

Hi guys, guessing I'm the only one here with the Saleen S/C and let me assure you; YOU WANT A SUPERCHARGER IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!

Tylus is right, roots system is the only way to go. Power is immediate! Tuning was my problem, nobody made a tuner (or tune) for our ride in early 2008,had to have both specially made then it took 3 tunes to get it right but it was so worth it.

I routinely shock the !@#$ out of Mustang GT's or import tuners and destroy Denali's or chipped Diesel trucks. It's daily driving manners are perfect! I’ll post some more pic's when I get home.Lost my password to FTE for a while but I'm back!
