351c in 1969 truck

Just wanted to let people know incase you didnt. I put a 351c in my ford truck had many issues with this. Questions no one could answer I here today to maybe help someone else doing this. The 351C used out of a car has motor mount issues i found that 302 motor mounts work great with the stock truck brackets and the motor sits in great with only slight movements of the brackets. I hope this saves someone time and money if you are doing this also

Since the 351C basically is the same block family as the 351M-400, you could have grabbed the engine towers and mounts from a 77-79 with a 351M-400. It depends on what was your original engine to begin with.

Uh huh...

The 1969/79 F100 & 1975/79 F150 302 engine supports (towers, stands, perches) are EXACTLY the same as 1977/79 F100/350 2WD 351M/400.

D7TZ6028B (replaced D0TZ6028A) .. Right Engine Support // D7TZ6029B (replaced D0TZ6029A) .. Left Engine Support.

There is no such thing as a 351W in an F Series truck until 1981.

No 351C's were installed in anything other than 1970/74 Passenger Cars, so I have no idea what you mean by 302/351.

I mean the mounts not the engine supports. I have used both types of engine supports for the swap. But I must be wrong because the parts man said so. I mean I am only building my 10th 67-79 truck. I love it when somebody knows parts numbers but has no clue what actually interchanges.

yes all towers from 302 351 400 are the same.all 302 351w 351c will take the same engine mounts. the351c is a drop in up to 79 with these parts.it will fit into 80 up with a rear sump base.

You are arguing with Ford Motor Company, not me.

I type what the parts catalog application are. If the catalog doesn't list what interchanges, I'm not typing hearsay, rumor or "I read it on the internet."

Ford says D7TZ6028B/D7TZ6029B 351M/400 2WD supports replace DOTZ6028/29A 302 supports. Get yourself a Ford truck part catalog and look for yourself.

New issue but not really. the motor fits great but sump is forward facing. I have about 1 1/2 inch of clearance but changing oil will b an issue. Can someone tell me what rear facing sump oil pan will be a direct fit to my 351C

P.S. sorry to start an argument over the motor mounts I was just passing info on that I learned

According to Summit Racing, Moroso makes oil pans that fit both 351C's and 351M/400's, so I guess you can use a 4wd 351M/400 pan in place of a Cleveland pan, to get the rear sump.

my grandpa put a 351c in wat is now my '70 f250 he took the motor mounts from watever car its out of and welded them into play it fits just fine and even being four wheel drive the motor can be mounted high enough to clear the oil pan of the front axle, although when changing the oil the front pumkin gets an oil bath every time

Headers for a 68 F100

Good Morning Everyone, I am new to this page. I have a 68 F100 2wd with a 72 351C 4Bb and am trying to find out what headers will fit on it. Thank you in advance for your help. Y'all have a great day.

Welcome to the Family!
I would start a new thread, as this one is older, and a new one will be basically your own thread.
To your question... Since this is not a factory installed engine, you may have an up hill battle finding a set of headers that will work perfectly.
My gut says that a set for a 351 M - 400 for a late 70's truck might work, but I have not tried this.
Since the port size is smaller on the 400 heads, the port size on on your 4 V head will tot match, if indeed they are 4-V heads.
If you are not aware, 4-V or 2-V, can usually be determined by checking the top corner of the heads, of a "4" cast into the head.
Regards,
Brad
