1990 F150 initial codes some insight please???
31CM EGR control valve sensor fault
41KOER HEGO(HO2S) Sensor Voltage low/system lean
65KOER Overdrive Cancel Switch not changing state (E4OD);transmission fault
So for those of you more familiar with everything what Exactly does that mean??? my personal interpretation of it is: I'm thinking the 41 is it's running lean likely cause of a clogged filter
31CM however suggests to me..that the EGR valve position sensor is faulty???
i'm especially curious of the implications of the code 65

Code 31 can be caused by a faulty EVP sensor, collapsed EGR diaphragm or spring. Some have also found if the vacuum circuit to the EGR is not working correctly (vacuum leaks) it can also cause that code. KOER test 41 could be caused by a faulty or aged O2 sensor as well as a true lean condition. How old is the O2 sensor? Have you checked for vacuum leaks?
Code 65 is usually user error. Did you cycle the O/D cancel switch at the correct time during the KOER tests?

going to do that today and will also have the wife help me do the Koer series of tests aswell I guess I wasn't quick enough climbing back in the truck when it wanted me too. But if I had to venture a guess based on the overall condition of the truck I'd say the O2 could very easily be original cause it doesn't look like they've done much for this old truck over the last 20 years. But I'm gonna re-run the tests today with her in the truck and then will relay that here

How old are your plugs, wires, cap and rotor as well as filters? If the EGR is not fully seating you it could be inducing a vacuum leak. These trucks are well known be prone to vacuum leaks from the cheesy vinyl/plastic vacuum lines Ford used. I never trust those lines, I ended up replacing yards of the stuff when I acquired my '92 F350 about 2 years.
O2 sensors do have a finite life. It may be time to consider replacing yours. Start with the basics, then move forward.

This si the same symptoms my E350 is having. I replaced everything that was related to the smog. Mines a california smog system and has the three diverter valves. This van has litterally smoked hotrods, corvette "Offthe line" and did smoke the tires for a half block. 351W now its about to goto the junkyard if I cant get some help from here. I love this van!! and its also my business vehicle so it has to be running or I loose money.
