^ Correct, you will have to go with a custom Y pipe with the long tubes.
I understand true duals have their appeal, but the same performance can be had with a solid single exhaust set up. Which is why I think true duals are useless on a 200HP truck. It only adds to the cost, not really to the performance. Look at all the 4th generation F-Bodies... They move out and they use a Y pipe set up.
If you use long tube headers just put the o2 sensor in the passenger side collector , you can use an H pipe with true duels but the H pipe will be to far back for the O2 to get a good reading....It works fine just reading one side ...Lew
i guess im going to go with long tube headers, to a single 3" pipe with a high flow cat (i foudn 3" high flows on ebay for $46 shipped.) into either a si/do muffler or split it into two glasspacks. this setup should cut down on cost since i should be able to use some of my orignal piping if some of it is 3"
does anyone see a problem with splitting it into two glasspacks? too much backpressure that way or anything?
how loud of a system am i looking at here if i got with dual glasspacks?
I would run a single glasspack, then spilt it. Also, I wouldn't skimp on the cat. Cheap ones will not last long unless you're lucky. I nice 3" with an air injection port for the air pump would be ideal.
