i have a 95 F-150 and i just got a flowmaster 40 series muffler and 2.5 inch pipes exiting behind my rear bumper with 5 inch tips. it sounds alright but still not what i want. i took the rear cat off but now i want new headers and to take the other cat off. i dont have true duals since the pipes Y out about a foot after by muffler and go over the rear axle and out back. CAN I PUT ON NEW HEADERS AND REPLACE THE MANIFOLDS WITH SOME NEW PIPES AND HAVE THOSE CONNECT TO THE MUFFLER WITHOUT CHANGING TO TRUE DUALS?? IM' CONFUSED!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY. I WANT IT LOUD!!!!!
NO muffler shop will bend you pipes to fit your truck without the CATS INSTALLED...PERIOD. They dont want the law after them. It's a big fine if caught.
Cats will kill the sound from any more. I have friend with late model mustang (302) with cats ONLY, no muffs. It is darn near as quiet as stock. Just a casual rumble.
Headers and flowmasters will get you sound, but the legalities of removing the cats will get you hung up with finding someone to make pipes fit.
will taking off the cats hurt your engine? I have a '94 F150 w/302 and my buddy says that my check engine light will be on all the time. I want to run no cats, but I'm scared of what's going to happen. Is there another sensor?
