The image of the towers burning and then disappearing will forever be with me!
I was at school when that happened, my mom was supposed to be on one of those planes but she was flying stand by and the plane was full so she had to wait for the next one. I didnt find out she wasnt on the plane untill that night.

Thats crazy. I guess not; the phones were all jammed. My wife boss at the time had a son that worked in a building there next door. He did not know he if his son was alive or dead for a day or so. The young man survived.
I remember it well, I was drinking coffee at work and clicked CNN on the pc and saw the announcement, I went to the control center of the buisness and told everyone and we got the TV on and watched with our mouths open. It was a very creapy feeling at the time and then we saw the next one hit.
I wonder where and what everyone else was doing at the time. Post it please.
I was working about 30 miles from NYC, when one of the secretaries said a plane hit the WTC, instantly the internet was slowed down to a crawl and the cell towers and landlines were over burdened.
I drove home by the time the second plane hit the tower, we could see the towers from a spot near my home and found others watching in horror when they disappeared off the horizon.
Went to the hospital to donate blood around noon, they were packed solid with offers to donate, they had to turn away people to come back another day.
All emergency personnel as far as where I live were put on stand by for immediate response.

Good story Steve. I forgot we did the blood donations here too.
Vici & I were driving into Las Vegas from Searchlight NV. There was a real eerie silence in Las Vegas. No traffic & in the stores people were just standing listening to radios or TVs. Pretty strange.
Yeah.. I remember this day pretty well.. I was justing pulling onto post when the MP's locked down the gates, went on full alert, and the next fews years were a blur.
I have been enjoying these temps lately! Wow.. Nice and chilly at night!
I was working in Bullhead City, it was wayyyy too quiet at the Airport! the only thing that flew was a Clark county Nevada helicopter came in for fuel, when he called tower for departure they told him that anything flying would be shot down! they decided to stay.
