I have a 99 F350 PSD. 4 wheel drive stopped working. By a little playing around I isolated it to the left hub up front. So I'm shopping for hubs, not sure if I had 30 or 35 splines. Called the place I bought it, they said hang on before you buy news hubs let us take a look. I took it up there, they said they could throw in a rebuild kit, cheaper than new hubs. So I let them do it. Well when I locked it in, with out locking the transfer case, it sounded like a can full of bolts being rotated. So on the way to work yesterday I dropped into my normal shop and told them the deal. They took a look and saw a c clamp had come free and they reseated it. Tried it, same awful sounds. So I guess I am looking for new hubs. Any one know how I can figure out how many splines the outer shaft has? They have hubs for my truck in 30 and 35 spline versions. Ford has been 100% usless in figuring anything out. Not sure what axel I have, I think Dana 60. It was produced 5/99. If any one has other thoughts beside new hubs feel free to comment that too. Thanks in advance everyone.
Manual locking hubs for a D50 or D60 are the same. Summit Racing has (recently) MileMarkers for $94/set - smoking deal for anything Dana60 manual hub. Perhaps not as nifty as Warns, but 1/2 the price.
