one of the kids in work just bought a newer explorer, but did not get the key-less entry code.
does anyone know where it is located in the vehicle??
i know on the cars it is on the passenger trunk hinge, but i looked around in the explorer a bit and could not find it on the door hinges.
You need to know the model year and style as it's in different locations depending on model year, 4-door, or Sport Trac.
I have to believe that if you searched this forum you would find the info. It's even a sticky on one of the other forums I frequent.
If you don't find it doing a search, post back with the requested information. It will either be on the driver's side kind of above the rear wheel but inside the trim panel, affixed to the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module, on the passenger side behind the second row door, or above the glove box viewed from the removed defrost grill.
On my 01 Sport Trac, the code could be seen in the cavity behind the storage lid in back of the rear seat. You have to shine a light back there to see it, but it's there.

In my 2004 is right side behind rear door inside the panel just down under the seafty belt it´s written on the computer. You have to loosen the panel I could see it with out take it all off.

i actually did try a search before i posted this thread, and the only thing that came up was a thread from 2003 about how to tell if the explorer had keyless entry.
