I think a part in my exhaust system is clogged causing my crappy performance lately. I suspect it's the other big round part that is in front of the muffler about 2 feet. it seems to have some vacuum lines coming from it (maybe)
What is this part called so I know what to search for??? if this part is clogged can it be unclogged? I thought it may be the cat, but didn;t think it would have vac lines? I want to replace it with just a straight pipe, but what to do with the vacuum lines???
that is your catalitic converter (also refered to as a CAT)
if your state reqires emmisions testings then you have to replace it, if not the i say cut that bad boy out and put a better muffler on there and let her breath better.
my state dose not require itso have have none and i have a full exaust system.
hope this helps
No I do not have emmision tests here. But what about those 2 lines coming from the top? can I just remove them completely? or do I have to figure out a way to attach them to the straight pipe
i'm not going to garentee it will fix your preformance issues but i had a ranger a suspected my cat was clogged up pretty bad (the truck had 300,*** miles on it) so i just gutted it and it ran great afterwards
Thanks ranger danger, a few saws all blades later and about 30 bucks in straight piping and adaptors and my truck runs great a good bit more throaty sounding but thats a good thing
